Orders & checkout
How do I place an order on Lakhdata Riyan?
It is straightforward:
- Browse our collection and add your favourite pieces to the cart
- Sign in to your account or check out as a guest
- Enter your shipping address and choose a payment method
- Complete payment through Razorpay (UPI, card, net banking, or EMI)
You will receive an order confirmation by email and SMS within a few minutes. If you do not, please check your spam folder or contact us.
Can I place an order without creating an account?
Yes. Guest checkout is available - just provide your email and shipping details. However, creating an account gives you order tracking, faster repeat purchases, wishlist saving, and access to the Lakhdatariya referral program.
Can I modify or cancel my order after placing it?
Yes, within a limited window:
- Within 4 hours: cancel or modify any order at no charge
- 4 hours to dispatch: in-stock pieces can still be cancelled; custom pieces may have entered production
- After dispatch: not possible to cancel, but you can return after delivery under our 30-day return policy

I did not receive an order confirmation. What should I do?
First, check your spam or promotions folder - sometimes our emails land there. Then check your account dashboard to see if the order is listed.
If you cannot find it anywhere, the order may not have completed. Check your bank statement: if money was deducted, contact us immediately at support@lakhdatariyan.com with the transaction ID. We will trace it within 24 hours.
Do you accept bulk or wholesale orders?
For wedding trousseau, corporate gifting, or wholesale enquiries, please contact our partnerships team at partners@lakhdatariyan.com. We offer custom pricing for orders above Rs.5 lakhs and dedicated relationship management for repeat partners.
Shipping & delivery
How long does shipping take?
It depends on the piece:
- In-stock pieces: 3-5 working days across India (2-3 days to metro cities)
- Custom or made-to-order pieces: 10-15 working days, since they are crafted on demand
- Express delivery (1-2 days): available for an additional Rs.299

Is shipping free?
Yes, for orders above Rs.5,000. For lower-value orders:
- Rs.2,000 to Rs.4,999: Rs.99 shipping
- Below Rs.2,000: Rs.149 shipping
- Express delivery (any value): Rs.299
Are shipments insured?
Yes. Every package is fully insured from our facility to your door. If a shipment is lost, damaged, or tampered with in transit, we replace or refund 100% - no claim forms, no fine print. Just call or email us.
Will I need to sign for delivery?
Yes. For your protection, all jewelry shipments require signature on delivery and a valid government-issued photo ID matching the order name. This is insurance company policy and cannot be waived. If you will not be home, provide an alternate address at checkout.
Do you ship internationally?
Not yet. We currently ship only within India. International shipping is on our roadmap for 2027, starting with UAE, Singapore, USA, UK, Canada and Australia. Sign up for our newsletter to be notified when we launch in your country.
My tracking says "delivered" but I did not receive the package.
Contact us within 24 hours at support@lakhdatariyan.com with your order number. Since all shipments are signature-required and insured, we can trace the signature, file an insurance claim, and ship a replacement at no cost while the investigation runs.
Can I track my order?
Yes. As soon as your order is dispatched, you receive a tracking link by email and SMS. You can also track in real time at lakhdatariyan.com/track using your order number.
Do you offer Cash on Delivery (COD)?
No. Due to jewelry insurance requirements, we accept prepaid orders only. We support every major Indian payment method via Razorpay - UPI, all debit and credit cards, net banking from all major Indian banks, and EMI options on cards.
Returns & refunds
What is your return policy?
30 days, no questions asked. Unworn pieces in original condition with all certificates intact can be returned for a full refund. We arrange free insured pickup. Refund processed within 7 business days of receipt.
How do I initiate a return?
Email returns@lakhdatariyan.com with your order number, the piece you want to return, and your pickup address. We arrange courier pickup within 48 hours - you do not need to find a courier yourself.
What is NOT returnable?
For hygiene, customization, and legal reasons:
- Pierced earrings (hygiene)
- Engraved or personalised pieces
- Custom or made-to-order designs
- Gift cards once activated
- Items showing wear, damage, or missing certificates
When will I receive my refund?
Once we receive the returned piece and verify it (usually within 2 business days), your refund is processed:
- UPI/cards: 5-7 business days to reflect
- Net banking: 3-5 business days
- EMI: 7-10 business days (depends on your card issuer)
If a refund does not appear within 10 business days, share your transaction ID and we will follow up with Razorpay.
Can I exchange instead of returning?
Yes. Within 30 days, you can request a direct exchange for any other piece on lakhdatariyan.com. If the new piece costs more, you pay the difference; if it costs less, we refund the balance. Email returns@lakhdatariyan.com to start.
What about the Lifetime Buy-Back guarantee?
Different from a return - the buy-back applies years after purchase. Bring back your Lakhdata Riyan gold piece anytime and we will give you 100% of gold value at current market rate plus 85% of certified stone value, as store credit toward a new piece. Full details in our Shipping & Returns page.
Products & certification
Is your jewelry IGI or SGL certified?
Yes. Every diamond piece comes with an IGI (International Gemological Institute) or SGL (Solitaire Gemological Laboratories) grading certificate. Every gold and silver piece carries a BIS HUID hallmark - the official Bureau of Indian Standards mark. You can verify HUID independently on the BIS Care app.
What is HUID and how do I verify it?
HUID (Hallmark Unique Identification) is a 6-digit alphanumeric code laser-etched on every BIS-hallmarked gold or silver piece in India. It is mandatory under Indian law.
To verify:
- Download the free BIS Care app from Play Store / App Store
- Open the "Verify HUID" section
- Enter the 6-digit code from your piece
- You will see the metal, purity, hallmarking centre, and date
What metal purities do you offer?
- Gold: 14K (58.5% pure), 18K (75% pure), 22K (91.6% pure)
- Silver: Sterling .925 (92.5% pure)
22K is traditional for Indian gold jewelry; 18K is more durable for daily wear and diamond settings; 14K is most affordable and works well for delicate pieces.
Are your diamonds natural or lab-grown?
Currently, all our diamonds are natural, Kimberley-Process certified (no conflict diamonds, ever). We are launching a lab-grown diamond collection in 2027 for customers who prefer a more sustainable option at a lower price point.
Will the actual piece look like the photo?
Very close, but each handcrafted piece is unique. Photographs are representative; the actual piece may show slight variation in colour, finish, or stone characteristics due to natural variations in gemstones, screen calibration, and the handcrafted nature of jewelry. Variations below 5% of stated metal weight are normal and within industry tolerance.
Is the jewelry hypoallergenic?
For sensitive skin, we recommend 18K or 22K gold and sterling .925 silver. Lower purity metals (and any nickel-containing alloys) can cause reactions in sensitive skin. All our metals are nickel-free by default. If you have severe allergies, please email us before ordering and we can recommend specific pieces.
Pricing & gold rates
How are prices calculated?
For every piece, your price includes:
- Gold value: current market rate x weight x purity factor
- Stone value: certified rate for each diamond or gemstone
- Making charges: karigar craftsmanship (varies by complexity)
- GST: 3% on jewelry as per Indian tax law
Breakdown is shown transparently on every invoice.
Do prices change daily?
Yes. Gold and diamond prices fluctuate with international markets. Our website updates daily based on the live spot rate from BIS-licensed bullion exchanges. The price applicable to your order is the one displayed at checkout completion, not when you added the item to cart.
Why are some pieces more expensive than others with similar gold weight?
Two main reasons:
- Making charges - intricate handcrafted pieces (kundan, meenakari, fine setting) require more karigar hours, so making charges are higher than for plain pieces
- Stone value - the same gold weight with a higher-grade diamond will naturally cost more

Do you offer EMI?
Yes. EMI is available on most credit cards for orders above Rs.5,000, through Razorpay. Tenure options range from 3 to 24 months depending on your card issuer. The interest rate is set by your bank, not by us. You can see the EMI calculator at checkout.
Are there any hidden charges?
No. The price you see at checkout is the final price - inclusive of GST, free shipping above Rs.5,000, and all certification costs. We never add charges after checkout.
Do you offer discounts or coupon codes?
First-time buyers get 10% off with code WELCOME10. We also send occasional offers to newsletter subscribers and run the Lakhdatariya referral program where you earn credits for inviting friends. We do not run frequent discount sales because we believe jewelry should be priced fairly to begin with.
Account & privacy
How do I create an account?
Click "Sign In" at the top right of any page, then "Create Account." We support Google Sign-In, mobile OTP login, or email + password. Account creation takes under a minute and unlocks order tracking, wishlists, and the referral program.
I forgot my password. How do I reset it?
Click "Sign In" then "Forgot Password" - we will email you a reset link. Or sign in with Google or mobile OTP instead, which avoid passwords entirely. If you cannot receive the email, contact support@lakhdatariyan.com.
Is my personal information safe?
Yes. We follow industry-standard security practices: HTTPS encryption on every page, bcrypt-hashed passwords, encrypted database, no storage of card details. Card and UPI data go directly to Razorpay (PCI-DSS Level 1 certified) and never touch our servers. Full details in our Privacy Policy.
How do I unsubscribe from marketing emails?
Click "unsubscribe" at the bottom of any marketing email, or update preferences in your account settings. You will still receive transactional emails (order confirmations, shipping updates) because they are essential to your purchase. To stop those too, you would need to close the account entirely.
How do I delete my account and data?
Email privacy@lakhdatariyan.com with the subject "Delete my account." We will close it within 7 business days and delete personal data within 90 days, except records we must retain for tax/legal compliance (GST law requires 8 years of invoice records).
Care & sizing
How do I find my ring or bangle size?
Use our detailed Size Guide. It has measurement instructions for rings, bangles, bracelets, necklaces and earrings, plus a printable PDF size chart you can use at home with paper and a ruler. Print at 100% scale for accuracy.
What if I order the wrong size?
No problem. Use our 30-day return policy to return for a refund, or request a direct exchange for the correct size. For made-to-order pieces (which are not returnable), we offer a one-time free resizing within 30 days of delivery for rings.
How should I clean my jewelry?
For most pieces: warm water + a drop of mild dish soap + soft toothbrush = sparkling clean. Avoid harsh chemicals, ammonia, bleach, and ultrasonic cleaners on delicate stones. Full material-specific care guide on our Jewelry Care page.
Can I wear my jewelry in the shower or pool?
Avoid both. Chlorinated pool water damages gold over time and dulls stones. Shampoo and soap leave residue that dulls shine. Saltwater is even worse. Remove jewelry before showering, swimming, exercising, or sleeping for maximum life.
How should I store my jewelry?
Each piece in its original Lakhdata Riyan box or microfiber pouch, separately from other pieces to avoid scratching. Store in a cool, dry place away from sunlight. Detailed storage tips on our Jewelry Care page.
Do you offer cleaning or repair services?
Yes. We offer complimentary cleaning and polishing for any Lakhdata Riyan piece, anytime, for life - just ship it to us with your order number. For repairs (loose stone, broken chain, sizing), we provide an estimate after inspection. Email care@lakhdatariyan.com to arrange.
