Ring sizing
Indian ring sizes follow IS 5366 - a numeric scale from 6 to 28. Each size represents the inner diameter of the ring in millimetres. Two simple ways to find yours.
Method A: Compare an existing ring
- Take a ring that fits the intended finger well.
- Use a digital caliper, or a ruler with mm markings, to measure the inner diameter of the ring (the empty space inside).
- Match the diameter to the table on the right.
- If between sizes, choose the larger one for comfort.
Method B: Paper strip method
- Cut a thin strip of paper - about 1 cm wide.
- Wrap it snugly around the base of your finger - not too tight.
- Mark the overlap with a pen, then unwrap and measure the length in mm.
- Divide by pi (3.14) to get diameter, then match the table.
Measure at the end of the day - fingers swell slightly through the day, so this gives the most comfortable size.
Bangles & bracelets
Bangles use Indian numeric sizes (2-2 to 2-16). Bracelets use S/M/L based on wrist circumference. Two completely different measurements.
Bangles - measure your hand
- Bring your thumb to your little finger as if sliding on a bangle.
- Measure the widest part of your hand (across the knuckles).
- This measurement in mm gives you the bangle inner diameter.
- Match to the table - the bangle should slide on with slight resistance, then fit comfortably.
Bracelets - measure your wrist
- Use a flexible tape (or string + ruler).
- Wrap snugly around your wrist just below the wrist bone.
- Record the circumference in cm.
- Add 1-2 cm for a comfortable bracelet fit (more for chunky styles).
Bangles are rigid and pass over your knuckles. Bracelets are flexible and clasp around the wrist - they use different measurements.
Necklace lengths
Necklaces are measured by their full length. The same length sits differently on different body types - the visual below shows where each length falls on an average woman of 5'5".

Earring sizing
All Lakhdata Riyan earrings use standard industry sizing - they fit any healed piercing. What varies is the drop length, which affects how the earring looks on you.
Standard sizing
- Post diameter: 0.9 mm - industry standard for all healed piercings.
- Post length: 10 mm - standard for most earlobe thicknesses.
- Closures available: push-back (most common), screw-back (for high-value pieces), hook (for drops).
- Specific closure for each design is mentioned on the product page.
Choosing drop length
- Short faces - small studs or short drops elongate the face.
- Long faces - medium drops or statement earrings balance proportion.
- Round faces - longer drops add length and slimness.
- For formal occasions and weddings, larger statement pieces work beautifully.
For earrings above 8 grams, we strongly recommend wearing them only for short periods or using support patches behind the earlobe to prevent stretching.
