We have written these Terms to be fair to both sides. If anything is unclear, write to us - we will explain in plain language.
These Terms are governed by Indian law and constitute an electronic agreement under the Information Technology Act 2000 and the Consumer Protection Act 2019. No physical or digital signature is required.
Acceptance of terms
By browsing, creating an account, or placing an order on lakhdatariyan.com, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms in full.
If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, please do not use the website. Your continued use signifies acceptance of any updated version.
These Terms apply to:
(a) all visitors to lakhdatariyan.com,
(b) all registered customers with an account,
(c) all purchases made through the website,
(d) any communication or interaction you have with our team.
Eligibility & account
Who can use the site
To create an account or place an order with us, you must be at least 18 years of age and capable of forming a legally binding contract under Indian law. By using the site, you represent that you meet both conditions.
Your account
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
- You must provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration
- You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account
- You must notify us immediately at support@lakhdatariyan.com if you suspect unauthorised access
- We reserve the right to suspend accounts that violate these Terms or contain false information
Products & pricing
Product information
We make every effort to display our jewelry accurately. However, photographs are representational - the actual piece may show slight variation in colour, finish, or stone characteristics due to:
- Natural variations in gemstones (each diamond is unique)
- Differences in screen calibration and lighting
- The handcrafted nature of jewelry, where minor variations are signs of authenticity
Weight, purity, and certified specifications on every product page are accurate. Variations below 5 percent of stated metal weight are considered within industry tolerance due to handcraft.
Pricing
All prices on lakhdatariyan.com are listed in Indian Rupees (INR) and are inclusive of GST as applicable.
Jewelry prices are linked to live gold rates and may change daily without prior notice. The final price applicable to your order is the price displayed at the time of checkout completion, not the time you added an item to your cart.
Pricing errors
In the rare event of a typographical error or pricing mistake on the website, we reserve the right to cancel your order and issue a full refund, even after payment confirmation. We will notify you immediately if this occurs. We will never charge you the wrong price without your re-consent.
Orders & acceptance
When you place an order, you make an offer to purchase. The order is confirmed only when we issue an order confirmation email or SMS. Until then, we may decline to accept your order for any reason, including:
- Unavailability of the product or material
- Inability to ship to your address
- Suspected fraud or unauthorised transaction
- Errors in product information or pricing
- Failure to comply with these Terms
Order modifications
Once an order is confirmed and our karigars have begun work (typically within 24 hours of confirmation for in-stock pieces), changes to design, size, or specifications may not be possible. Please review your order carefully before checkout. For modifications, contact us within 4 hours of order placement at support@lakhdatariyan.com.
Order cancellation by you
You may cancel an order without charge within 4 hours of placement, provided it has not yet entered production. After this window, cancellations of custom or made-to-order pieces may not be possible. Cancellations of in-stock pieces remain possible until dispatch, with a 100 percent refund.
Order cancellation by us
We reserve the right to cancel any order at our discretion. In such cases, you will receive a full refund through your original payment method within 7 business days, with no other liability on our part.
Payments & Razorpay
All payments are processed by Razorpay, India's PCI-DSS Level 1 certified payment gateway. We support:
- UPI (PhonePe, Google Pay, Paytm, BHIM, etc.)
- Credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, RuPay, American Express)
- Net banking from all major Indian banks
- EMI options on select cards for orders above Rs.5,000
- Pay later services (Simpl, LazyPay) where available
Cash on Delivery (COD)
We do not offer COD due to jewelry insurance requirements. All orders are prepaid only.
Payment failures
If a payment fails, the amount (if debited) will be auto-refunded by Razorpay or your bank within 5-7 business days. We have no control over your bank's reversal timelines. If a refund is not received within 10 business days, please share your transaction ID with us and we will follow up with Razorpay on your behalf.
Currency & international payments
The site currently accepts payments in Indian Rupees only. International cards may be subject to your issuing bank's conversion rates and foreign transaction fees, which are outside our control.
Shipping & delivery
Detailed shipping policies, timelines, and fees are governed by our Shipping & Returns Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

- Free shipping on orders above Rs.5,000; tiered fees apply below this threshold
- In-stock pieces: 3-5 working days
- Custom and made-to-order pieces: 10-15 working days
- All shipments are insured and signature-required
- Risk of loss transfers to you upon delivery and signature confirmation
Delivery delays
While we make every effort to meet stated timelines, delays may occur due to courier issues, natural events, government restrictions, or other circumstances outside our control. We are not liable for indirect losses arising from delivery delays, but we will keep you informed at every stage.
Incorrect address
If you provide an incorrect or incomplete shipping address, additional charges may apply for redelivery. Returns due to incorrect addresses are not eligible for free shipping refunds.
Returns & refunds

Headline terms:
- 30-day no-questions return on unworn pieces in original condition with all certificates intact
- Customised, engraved, or made-to-order pieces are not returnable
- Pierced earrings are not returnable for hygiene reasons
- Free insured pickup; refund within 7 business days of receipt
Refund method: Refunds are processed to your original payment method. UPI/card refunds take 5-7 business days from initiation; bank transfers take 3-5 business days. We do not offer cash refunds.
Lifetime buy-back
Every gold piece purchased from Lakhdata Riyan is covered by our lifetime buy-back guarantee. Years after purchase, you may exchange the piece for store credit toward a new purchase.
Buy-back terms
- 100 percent of gold value at the prevailing market rate on the date of exchange
- 85 percent of certified stone value for IGI/SGL certified diamonds, based on original certificate
- Original certificate (IGI/SGL) must be presented for stone value claims
- Original Lakhdata Riyan packaging and HUID hallmark must be intact and verifiable
- Buy-back value is issued as store credit only, not cash
- Store credit must be redeemed toward a new piece of equal or greater value
What is not covered
- Pieces showing damage, repair, alteration, or wear beyond normal use
- Pieces with missing or damaged certificates
- Stones that have been replaced or modified after original purchase
- Pieces purchased from third parties claiming to be Lakhdata Riyan
Authentication: All buy-back items are verified for authenticity. Pieces that fail authentication will be returned to you, and the buy-back claim will be declined with a written explanation.
Warranties & disclaimers
What we warrant
- Every piece is genuinely what we describe - certified gold purity, hallmarked, with valid IGI/SGL certification where applicable
- We warrant against manufacturing defects for 1 year from delivery
- Authenticity of all certifications is guaranteed for life - if any certification fails verification, full refund applies
What we do not warrant
- That the site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure
- Specific tax outcomes from your purchase (consult your tax advisor)
- Investment returns or future market value of any piece
- Damage from improper care, accidents, exposure to chemicals, or normal wear and tear
- Allergic reactions to specific metals or stones (we recommend hypoallergenic 18K+ for sensitive skin)
The website and services are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, except as expressly stated above and as required by applicable Indian consumer protection law.
Intellectual property
All content on lakhdatariyan.com is the exclusive property of Lakhdata Riyan and is protected under Indian and international copyright, trademark, and intellectual property laws.
What is protected
- The Lakhdata Riyan name and logo (trademark protected)
- The "Crafted with Love, Blessed by Baba" tagline
- The Lakhdatariya referral program name and concept
- All jewelry designs, photographs, illustrations, and videos on the site
- All written content - product descriptions, blog posts, brand stories
- The maroon-and-gold visual identity, mandala motifs, and packaging designs
- Website code, layout, structure, and user interface
Limited licence to you
We grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable, revocable licence to:
- Browse and view content on the website for personal, non-commercial use
- Download or print pages strictly for your own reference (e.g. order confirmations)
- Share product links on social media with proper attribution to Lakhdata Riyan
What you may not do
You may not, without our prior written permission:
(a) copy, reproduce, or republish any content for commercial purposes,
(b) download product photographs and use them on other websites or platforms,
(c) copy or imitate our jewelry designs for manufacture or resale,
(d) use the Lakhdata Riyan name, logo, or tagline in your own business,
(e) reverse-engineer, scrape, or systematically harvest content from the website,
(f) create derivative works based on our designs or brand materials,
(g) use any of our content to train AI/ML models without explicit written consent.
Reporting infringement
If you believe any content on our site infringes your intellectual property, please email legal@lakhdatariyan.com with the details. We follow notice-and-takedown procedures as per the Information Technology Act 2000 and IT Rules 2021.
User conduct
When using lakhdatariyan.com, you agree not to:
- Use the site for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any law
- Impersonate another person or entity, or misrepresent your identity
- Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information
- Use automated tools (bots, scrapers, crawlers) to access the site without permission
- Interfere with the security, integrity, or performance of the site
- Upload viruses, malware, or any harmful code
- Harass, abuse, or threaten our team members or other customers
- Post defamatory, obscene, hateful, or offensive content in reviews or communications
- Abuse our return policy, referral program, or promotional offers

Third-party services

- IGI and SGL for diamond certification - independent labs

- Firebase Auth for secure login services
We are not responsible for the practices, content, or policies of these third parties. Please review their terms separately if you have concerns.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable Indian law:
Our total cumulative liability to you for any claim arising from your use of the site or any purchase shall not exceed the amount you paid us for the specific order giving rise to the claim, or Rs.10,000, whichever is higher.
We are not liable for:
- Indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
- Loss of profits, revenue, business opportunities, or goodwill
- Loss of data or system damage from accessing our website
- Emotional distress or sentimental loss
- Acts of third parties (payment gateways, couriers, certification labs)
Nothing in this clause limits our liability for:
- Death or personal injury caused by our negligence
- Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation
- Any liability that cannot be limited under applicable Indian consumer law
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Lakhdata Riyan, its founders, employees, and partners from any claims, damages, losses, costs, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from:
- Your violation of these Terms
- Your violation of any applicable law or third-party rights
- Misuse of the website or services
- Any false information you provide
- Content you submit (reviews, communications) that is unlawful or harmful
Account termination
You may close your account at any time by emailing support@lakhdatariyan.com. We will process the closure within 7 business days, while retaining any data legally required (orders, invoices, GST records) for the periods specified in our Privacy Policy.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account, without notice and without refund, if you:
- Violate these Terms or any applicable law
- Provide false information during registration or purchase
- Abuse our return, referral, or promotional programs
- Engage in fraudulent or harmful activity
Upon termination, all rights granted to you under these Terms cease immediately, but any unfulfilled obligations on your part (e.g. payment for shipped orders) survive.
Force majeure
Neither party shall be liable for any failure or delay in performance caused by circumstances beyond reasonable control, including but not limited to:
- Natural disasters (earthquake, flood, cyclone, fire)
- Pandemic, epidemic, or government-imposed lockdowns
- War, civil unrest, riots, or terrorism
- Strikes or labour disputes affecting suppliers or couriers
- Government action, regulatory changes, or import/export restrictions
- Internet, telecommunications, or banking system failures
In such circumstances, the affected party will notify the other promptly and resume performance as soon as reasonably possible. Refunds will be processed normally for affected orders.
Disputes & arbitration
Step 1: Direct resolution
If any dispute arises, please first contact us at grievance@lakhdatariyan.com. We commit to resolving most issues within 30 days. Most disputes are resolved at this stage.
Step 2: Mediation
If direct resolution fails, both parties agree to attempt mediation through a neutral third party before initiating formal proceedings. Mediation costs will be shared equally.
Step 3: Binding arbitration
If the dispute is not resolved through Steps 1 and 2, it shall be finally settled by binding arbitration under the Arbitration and Conciliation Act 1996 (India).
Seat of arbitration: Surat, Gujarat
Number of arbitrators: One (sole arbitrator, appointed by mutual agreement; failing which by the Surat Court Arbitration Centre)
Language: English
Costs: Each party bears its own costs unless the arbitrator orders otherwise
Consumer protection
Nothing in this clause prevents you from filing a complaint under the Consumer Protection Act 2019 in the appropriate Consumer Forum, if you qualify as a consumer under that Act. Indian consumer law overrides any arbitration clause to the extent of inconsistency.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. The following key legislation applies:
- Information Technology Act 2000 and rules thereunder
- Consumer Protection Act 2019 and E-Commerce Rules 2020
- Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023
- Indian Contract Act 1872
- Sale of Goods Act 1930
- Bureau of Indian Standards (Hallmarking) Regulations 2018
Subject to the arbitration clause above, the courts at Surat, Gujarat shall have exclusive jurisdiction for any non-arbitrable matters.
Changes to terms
We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, services, or applicable law. When we do:
- The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will change
- For material changes (anything affecting your rights or obligations), we will notify you by email at least 30 days before the change takes effect
- For minor changes, we will update the page without separate notification
- We maintain a public version history - email us for past versions
By continuing to use the site after revised Terms take effect, you accept the new version. If you do not agree with the changes, you may close your account before they take effect.
